Overview

The Corporate Purchasing Manager is responsible for the sourcing and purchase of raw materials and finished goods in accordance with our Quality, Delivery, Cost and Inventory targets. They will ensure suppliers deliver goods and materials on time to meet our production and shipment needs. They will work with buyers and strategic sourcing team to execute strategic supply agreements and programs.

Responsibilities
    Manage the Purchasing team, including coaching, training, analyzing and assisting in solving work problems, and participating in personnel actions such as: hiring, merit reviews, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure buyer plan the availability of assigned items to support the company's customer service, cost, and inventory turn objectives. Communicate when availability is short of expectations, perform root cause, and take corrective action to bring item availability back to expectations.
  • Review and approve the selection of suppliers, including assessment of supplier capability, supplier development, and monitoring supplier performance.
  • Ensure that lean principles are followed in setting order policies, ERP system, and planning system settings.
  • Develop and deploy supply strategies with the leadership team.
  • Establish and deploy team and individual SMART goals that support and align with the departmental and company goals.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations and develop professional growth plans for direct reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate will possess significant expertise and experience with purchasing/procurement.
  • Supervisory experience - minimum of 2-3 years.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of purchasing experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
  • CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) or certification from another professional organization such as APICS, ISM or CSCMP is preferred.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and proactive approach that is results focused.
  • Must have strong analytic skills.
  • Must have good communication and be able to work with people in one-on-one and in team settings.
  • Should be flexible, organized and capable of dealing with multiple priorities.
