SUMMARY:

The Business Systems Analyst is a position that is involved in small to medium projects that span multiple departments. This role will create detailed business requirements, functional specifications, system documentation, and assist in the implementation of quality software solutions. This role will work closely with business areas to build relationships as a partner to the business, understand business processes, workflows, and their relationships to current and future software solutions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & REPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as leadership may deem necessary from time to time.

  1. Provide ongoing day-to-day support for the applications team in addition to project management responsibilities.
  2. Document and analyze current state business processes and the underlying systems and applications.
  3. Document proposed and planned future state processes.
  4. Conduct meetings with stakeholders to gather user requirements for various projects.
  5. Identify and analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to improve existing work processes.
  6. Works with users to understand new reporting requirements and translate them into specifications for the data team to build from.
  7. Assist in the defining and participating in test plans, test strategies, and the creation of scripts.
  8. Produce timely and high-quality work products, including specifications, process flows, mock-ups and wireframes.
  9. Assist in the analysis and recommendation of software that aligns with overall systems and business requirements.
  10. Create and maintain BA templates for use in projects including but not limited to requirements gathering, specification documents, user stories, use cases and test plans.
  11. Review end user training documentation and assist in training as needed.
  12. Lead smaller scoped projects as required.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to be successful in this role.

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, information systems or related discipline.
  • 3+ years related work experience working with end users in a formal business systems analyst role.
  • 2+ years performing data gathering, analysis, application design and testing using BA methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, time management and organizational abilities.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and use sound judgment in decision making.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to achieve objectives.
  • Natural curiosity and self-driven motivation to learn.
  • Attention to detail and a positive can-do attitude required.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, often under pressure and/or short deadlines, with accuracy and reliability.
  • Demonstrate a calm demeanor and retain composure in stressful situations.
  • Ability to initiate action and work independently on most tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, optimize and document complex business processes from "quote-to-cash" in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Three years of ERP related experience preferred. Epicor experience highly desired.
