The Department of Teaching and Learning at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh seeks a tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. The person selected for this position will teach undergraduate courses in our teacher education programs in person and online. They may also teach graduate courses in our online MSE program. In addition, this person is expected to maintain an active program of scholarly research and publication and provide service to the department, college, university, K-12 community, and the profession. This position is a 9-month academic year appointment with a teaching load of 12 credits per semester. The Department of Teaching and Learning includes more than 450 students pursuing majors leading to licensure in 4K-9 elementary and middle school education, grade 4-12 middle and high school education in English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, and K-12 technology, and engineering education. The department also includes more than 100 in-service teachers pursuing their master's degree in teaching & learning. In addition, the department provides certificates leading to licensure in English as a Second Language, Bilingual Education, and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. |
Responsibilities | The person in this position will primarily be responsible for developing and teaching undergraduate courses in child and adolescent development and best practices in K-12 pedagogy. In addition, the person in this position will supervise clinical and student teaching field experiences in local schools. This person is expected to maintain an active program of scholarly research and publication and provide service to the department, college, university, K-12 community, and the profession. |
