We are currently hiring a Clinical Staff Educator in Milwaukee, WI. This is a full-time position that does not require working late nights, weekends, or holidays.

Job Summary

This is a key education and training position within the clinical team. The position reports to the Chief Operating Officer to support the organization's delivery of safe, effective, and culturally sensitive trauma-informed patient care services. The RN Clinical Staff Educator collaborates with management, other clinic leaders, and staff to assess, plan, develop, implement, facilitate, evaluate, and revise educational programming for the clinical team. This accountability is exercised by assessing, monitoring, reviewing, planning, organizing, implementing, managing, and evaluating processes, workflows and functions that provide nursing and patient care according to accepted standards of practice and performance. This individual is responsible for defining and achieving service and quality outcomes that are sensitive to nursing and patient care and is a resource to other clinic leaders. The position has shared responsibility for compliance with accreditation, regulatory, federal, and state rules, and regulations as well as organizational policy and procedures. The position must be able to work flexible hours to encompass coverage of the clinic. The educator will work closely with other clinic leaders, department leaders, mid-level, and support staff to ensure the delivery of quality, safe and cost-effective health care.


Responsibilities

  1. Accomplish nursing human resource objectives by orienting, training, assigning, and coaching employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; adhering to policies and procedures.
  2. Assess and provide education for nursing support personnel, including but not limited to, Medical Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses and Registered Nurses. This includes onboarding, performance management, training and competency assessment.
  3. Assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate education programs to meet the orientation and ongoing competency and professional development needs of the clinical team.
  4. Develops curricula that is reflective of evidence-based practice and uses the appropriate methods of teaching to accommodate learning styles and the learning environment.
  5. Collaborate with management and department leaders to maintain compliance with PCHC policy and procedures and external regulatory bodies such as HRSA, OSHA and CLIA.
  6. Foster effective/ongoing communication between medical support staff, provider(s) and management.
  7. Assist in development of policies and procedures to improve patient care and utilization of clinic resources.
  8. Ensure that all clinical administrative procedures, records, and documentation follow relevant regulations, policies and standards, and ensure that the clinic operates in a consistent and high-quality manner.
  9. Assure staff have the necessary equipment and supplies to provide efficient quality services.
  10. Actively participate in all meetings and organizational committees as requested.
  11. Treat information confidentially.
  12. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Education AND Experience:

  • Associate degree in Nursing is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • Two years of experience in ambulatory care nursing is required.
  • Two years of clinical educator experience is preferred.
  • Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact) (or eligible for Wisconsin licensure).
  • Trauma-informed and culturally sensitive care trainings are required to be completed within a year if the incumbent has not received such trainings.
