Position Description

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Tech performs a variety of highly skilled maintenance work to maintain structures, electrical system, heating systems, plumbing, machine repair, etc. Work requires in-depth knowledge of various trades; electrical and mechanical.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Install, repair, rebuild, and maintenance of machinery/equipment to ensure the maximum up-time of production.

• Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties; make repairs or adjustments when needed.

• Assist Supervisor in determining the nature and scope of projects and the requirements for completion.

• Submit requests for additional parts and service.

• Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment, machinery, heating, ventilation or air conditioning units.

• Maintain required maintenance logs and files.

• Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures.

• Comply with all quality, safety and sanitation regulations.

Qualifications

• Requires trades training or progressively responsible related experience.

• Effective written and oral communication skills to work with and guide the work of others.

• Strong mechanical skills.

• Ability to solve practical problems.

• Ability to operate various hand and power tools. Requires a broad knowledge of tooling, maintenance procedures, and general maintenance practices.

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Physical Demands

• Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and high places.

• May include moderate to heavy lifting.
